Cherry Pie (NEW STORY!)

"What are you thinking?"
We're sitting at a wooden table, located at the far corner of my favourite coffee shop, which has the best moccas and cherry pies in town. He's obviously talking to me but I find it hard to answer, so I pretend not to be listening and further pick on my cherry pie.
"That pie is suffering," he says with a forced smile.
I give out an unreasonably loud snort and let go of my fork. His coffee is finished whereas mine is untouched, getting cold. I don't know what I'm thinking. I'm mostly "not thinking". I find that "thinking" at this moment would make things worse, because I would start digging our memories and try to figure out what went wrong. Then I decide maybe he can help me with this: "Why are you dumping me again?"
"I am not dump... It's not like that. You know it's not like that Tess, it's just that..."
He's struggling for words, but he knows damn well that there are no good words, symbols or allusions for it. He's dumping me, for good.
I don't mind being dumped, even though we've been together for three years, six months and twenty-two days, I really don't mind. The "not knowing" part is killing me. I always knew we wouldn't last forever, but I always knew there would be a good reason for our breakup. A huge fight, with stuff throwing at each other and everything. But here we are, at my favourite place of all times, sitting at our special table, having our "usuals".
Nothing makes sense, really, so he might as well use any word for it.
As he keeps on mumbling reasons and apologies and stuff, I realise there's no point left staying. Life has to go on at some point, right? So I call on for a waitress:
"Check, please!"

G's so-called Freedom, Once Again

She hated this. She hated the moment itself and she hated the way I brought up the facts. She always does. She used to hate me as me and as my whole being in this world; but not anymore. Not since I gave her the chance to be free, she called it a short “break”, in a planet called Earth where soul mates don't exist anymore. It wasn't a decision of mine actually. It was decided between G and herself. I think I'm getting old, 'cause it is the only explanation to the acquiescence in my responses in these days. She would never realize the sacrifice that I made to give her her freedom.

While I pity myself, pity the vicious sanctity from darkness, the great commander Tenebrea; she didn't talk. She didn't reply. She just stood still. To be more specific, she stood still with tears on her cheeks because she realized that her actions hurt me more than Foedus hurt that mere human and now she just didn't have the face to say something. Some new excuses. Don't humans always find excuses to clean the mess they made?

She takes her blooded hands to her forehead not caring the blood smearing on her pure white skin. More importantly not knowing that the unnecessary man's dirty blood smearing on her forehead where I kiss her the last time will make me angrier.
“Look, Tenebrea, can't we-” she stops as the human growls writhing in pain. She turns her eyes away. Her eyes are wet again.

I take a few steps while she tries to wipe the tears in her eyes failing to prevent me from noticing them; but instead she smears more blood, this time on her eyes.
“You look miserable, Gaia.”
“He is miserable. You have to help him-” she mumbles in the dark silence, “quickly.”
“D will be here when you wake up. Go to sleep,” taking her chin up I look at her, she really needs to get rest.
She looks at me, waiting for the answer she wants to hear.
“With no worries.”

I'm watching her passing through the fence, she hadn't turn to look back once. She trusts me. She believes in me. Again. I raise my hand towards her. The man on the floor coughing blood, he is about to die. It is just like the last time. A couple of forget-me-not's, both as flowers in the small garden behind the fences and wishes from me. I call out her name, and “Obliviate.”

I'm tired. Just like the other time.

G's Balance

G stood in the dark, longer than I would expect, breathing in and out the horror. It took a long growl from the monster to break the silence, and G was shouting, her voice and very own self trembling. "What do you want from me?"
Moving towards G, the monster growled another long and deep growl. When it finnaly stood right in front of her, its nosetrills facing her soft skinned cheecks.
Now she could easily make out the silent groans of the neighbour, who was moving a little from side to side on the pavement; his eyes shut and his hands covering his wound. G wanted to help him, G wanted to say something, anything that would make sense. She wanted to tell him "I don't know these freaks" though she knew she'd be lying. But G wanted to lie to him, needed to lie to him but right now she could do none of these things, because the putrid breath of the monster made it even impossible to breathe.
"What do you want from me, Tenebrae?" she said, this time hardly audible.
And that was my que.

"I think it is quite enough Foedus," I say, which Foedus responds by taking couple of steps away from G. She is now breathing easy and once she gets hold of her breathing, she crouches right next to the neighbour. "Hello, Gaia."
She doesn't answer, instead, she examines the bleeding wound of the neighbour, trying to remove the blood on her way with the sleeve of her shirt.
"I take all the trouble to come here and pay you a visit, and this is your way of hospitality? I am surely not impressed."
"Bastard."
Foedus snarls but I hold up my hand to calm him. "Now I do not believe you understand the balance here Gaia, I suggest you watch your words."
She doesn't answer, which leads to a long silence, except the moaning of the neighbour. Then it takes her the neighbour to open his eyes to break the silence, because she can't take it anymore.
"I need to help him."
"Oh, well."
"Your hideous monster did this to him. You, did this to him! He doesn't even know me."
Foedus growls, obviously offended, and right about it too.
"He was going to," I say looking down on them, "was he not?"
